Principal Message

Doug Forsgren

I am proud to have concluded my first year at Snow Horse Elementary.  What I can say about the past year is what you have heard me say several times…this school in incredible and I am grateful to be part of it.

The phenomenal nature of this school starts in the classroom.  Snow Horse has a contingent of world class teachers who love students, are committed to success, and who are willing to take feedback for continuous improvement.

However, this school would not be what it is without an involved and supportive community. This community has shown its commitment to education through its involvement in the PTA, parent/teacher conferences, and volunteerism.  Most notably has been the love of the arts. From the PTA musical to grade level program the arts, the performances at Snow Horse are second to none.

Snow Horse doesn’t achieve at such a high live, much less function with our diligent support staff.  Secretaries, recess assistants, TAs, lunchroom help and more ensure your children are happy and want to come to school.

We can proudly say we met our school growth goal in reading this past year thanks to the hard work of all the above mentioned individuals. The district and state goal were to achieve a 60% typical or above growth rate. Snow Horse obtained a 70% growth rate. That’s impressive!  We hope to maintain and surpass that rate this coming year.

New to Snow Horse this year are 3 Essential Elements (EE) special program classrooms. We welcome these students and their families to the Snow Horse community. We are so excited to have the opportunity to include in our mission to, “provide a safe, loving environment where students are inspired to learn and prepare for their future.”

Thank you for all you have done and will do to make Snow Horse the best it can be.
