Early literacy builds the foundation for academic achievement.
Davis School District’s Family Literacy Nights help families support children’s reading and learning from the earliest years through elementary school. Families will participate in hands-on activities, learn practical strategies and choose four sessions tailored to their child’s age, grade and learning needs.
Sessions are designed for children ages 0–3, ages 3–5, kindergarten and first grade, and second and third grade. Sessions will be offered in English and Spanish, with interpretation available in additional languages.

Today, our 1st and 3rd grade students had a special opportunity to learn about the importance of dental hygiene! They discovered healthy habits that help keep their teeth strong and their smiles bright, including proper brushing, flossing, and making healthy choices.
A big thank you to our presenters for helping our students learn how to take care of their teeth and build lifelong healthy habits. We loved seeing our students engaged, asking questions, and excited about keeping their smiles healthy!

Tuesday - Students who wear a helmet or use the crosswalk can get a treat from crossing guards

Through Market Day, Snow Horse Elementary students gain hands-on experience with real-world economic concepts. Using their classroom economy, fifth graders learn about supply and demand, market trends and financial decision-making while building valuable life skills.

Join Davis Reads 45 this summer! Students are challenged to read for 45 days, earning prizes every 5 days and a special end-of-summer event for those who complete the challenge. Pick up books during summer library hours. Families should check with their local elementary school for specific days and times. Regular summer reading helps prevent learning loss and supports continued academic growth. Contact your school or library to get started!
